The project schedule provides a graphical representation of tasks, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, task duration, and deadlines.

The purpose of the Scheduling Toolkit is to:

- generate a project schedule to define the tasks to be performed, expected duration, start and end dates of each task, and the resource(s) required for completing the task
- provide a graphical representation (Gantt Chart), of projects predicted tasks, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, task duration, and deadlines
- provide an agreed schedule which will be used to manage the project and will be known as the "baseline schedule"
- provide a mechanism to update the schedule on an on-going basis.
